End of the month

And where have I been this week?

Last weekend we went for a drive up around Okura and Stillwater just to check it out really. We're quite keen on moving out of the city and thought we'd take a look. We liked Stillwater more than Okura but despite its size there is no school there or even a dairy or service station so its still a bit of a drive just to get your milk. We used to live in Dairy Flat a few years back and quite liked that but not really sure we can afford to buy a lifestyle block when anything decent is upwards of $700k.

On our way back we stopped in at Snowplanet for a coffee and noticed that its changed a little bit since we were last there. They now have a kiddie's slope for playing in the snow and tobagganing for only $15 which I thought wasn't too bad, so maybe in a few months time we might take Isla there and see what she thinks.

Then Monday and Tuesday Isla was sick and still has a real hacking cough and runny nose, poor thing. We'll be glad when the warmer weather comes.

Weds we went to the library and yesterday went and checked out the new mall at Albany. So nice to have a KMart on the Shore now and i'm looking forward to a flash new Farmers store and especially Borders.

Oh and I've been doing a few layouts too. Here's one I started at Donna's house last Friday and finished over the weekend for Scrapbook Studio. Ok so the picture of this layout is a bit washed out or something but you get the idea.

Zoo Photowalk

Was such a gorgeous day yesterday. Met up with Sharon and Penny at the zoo. Was great to meet you Penny and your little ones. Unfortunately the new baby giraffe was a bit shy coming out so we never got to see her. Nevermind, there's always next time. Here's some pics including my little monkey.

Another digi.

All of a sudden the mojo has hit! So here's another one I did using a template. And I think I've figured out drop shadows now as well. I've realised I didn't have any on my last layout but I don't mind. Since doing this one I've also done nearly 2 paper layouts too so I'm onto a good thing at the moment.

Had a fun weekend - finished our last Fiskars class at NZ Scrapbook with Trina and Donna - we had 23 people in the last class so it was full on! Anyway here's my layout - will share more over the next few days.

I did digi.

So I follow a few of the digi sites and their blogs and this week Scrapartist featured such a gorgeous kit that I couldn't resist getting it. And there are so many yummy things in the kit including a template which I've used to create this layout. I've added a few extras to it but it was so quick and easy to do. I have done a few digi layouts in the past but i'm feeling the buzz for them again!

New toy in the house!

So we went shopping this morning and came back with this. Actually I'd eyed it up a few weeks ago and in the meantime sold a couple of old toys on Trademe that are no longer played with. So we got this barn to keep all her animals in. She loves her animals. Whenever we go into a postshop or bookshop she gets excited by the greeting cards with animals on them, she loves to flick through my National Geographics to see the animal pics and the best thing is the Schleich animal figurine catalogue. Lots of animals to see in there.

Under the Weather

Urghh. DH and I are a bit sickly here but not real real sickly, just on the edge of a fullblown cold sickly. So annoying, wish it would just get over and done with. Still at least Miss Isla is well. Full of beans infact.

So Saturday went well - you can check out Trina's layout over on her blog. We are running 2 more free Fiskars classes - tomorrow Weds at 7pm and on Sat at 11am so come along for a fun time.

Sunday we went to Villa Maria for lunch for my MIL's birthday. Was very nice and Isla and her cousin had lots of fun chasing each other around. All good.

Fiskars free workshop

Poor Isla is sick - just got a tummy bug, poor wee thing. So we're not up to much today.

On Saturday I went to a Stampin' Up party - got me 3 fab stamp sets after much procrastinating and indecision. So I'm looking forward to getting those, can't wait to play.

And for all you locals you may know that NZ Scrapbook have opened a huge new store on the North Shore. Fiskars are providing a fab free workshop at the store and we will also be demonstrating Fiskars products and doing make and takes. So come join us - Trina, Donna and myself.

Here are the class times:

Sat 11th August 11am and 12.30pm
Wed 15th August 7pm
Sat 18th August 11am.

You can make bookings by ringing NZ Scrapbook on 9120665.
The classes are going to be run in a similar vein to SENZ, so make sure if you book, you turn up on time or your seat may be given away.

Please bring a 5x7 landscape photo, probably b/w would be best. And as its a 'love' theme, on someone/thing they love. But if you don't have a photo to bring, don't worry we will have a template for photo placement, so the photo can be added later.

And here's a sneak peek (its really gorgeous!):

New layouts

These were done for Scrapbooking By Design (Scrapbook Studio) for July. I quite like how these turned out. I used some lettering on both layouts that i'd had for a wee while which i hadn't actually used yet - the black lettering stickers are by Doodlebug (soooo cute, i love them!) and the title on Swing are KI Memories felt letters (tho I didn't get those from Scrapbook Studio). While nice i had to add some glue dots to them despite them being 'self-adhesive'.
